The Suncream You Need In Your Life- Garnier

A whole post dedicated to a sun cream, weird, I know. When you try this suncream though you will know exactly what I’m on about!! We all know how important a suncream is in our skincare routine. Here’s a scary fact from Cancer Research U.K. “A study published in 2011 estimated that 86% of melanomas in the UK (around 11,100 cases) every year are linked to too much exposure to sunlight…” It’s especially important for us pale girls! I would be lying if I said I put my suncream on everyday like I’m supposed to but I’ve a reason why! My all time pet hate with using suncream is that awful, white, ghostly, sticky sheen you get all over your skin and if it makes me white (I’m already a ghost) I don’t want to think how awful it makes those of you with a lovely tan look! Enter my new found love ‘Garnier Ambre Solaire Sensitive Advanced Anti-imperfection Protection cream’ (A long name, i know!)

This is described as “Ambre Solaire’s first anti-shine and anti-imperfection action which protects your skin against the sun’s harmful effects while ensuring up to eight hour mattified skin” I was completely blown away with this suncream! I put a thick layer all over my face and when rubbed in it looked as if there was nothing on my face! There was no suncream smell. No sticky, white sheen. Nothing. If anything it had smoothed my skin slightly to make it look better than normal! This suncream can be put on straight before sun exposure (so no half an hour wait as most suncreams advise) and it takes two seconds to rub all over your face and you’re good to go. This suncream is specifically formulated for fair and sensitive skin, which I love and is also great for those of you with oily and acne prone skin. The suncream contains salicylic acid and ginger root extract to help fight the appearance of imperfections and blemishes.

I’ve tried this suncream under my usual makeup too, just to make sure the mattiefying property didn’t have some awful effect on how my makeup applied and lasted. Thank goodness it didn’t! I actually really liked applying my makeup over the top as the suncream has smoothed my skin.

I honestly love this suncream and have been using it everyday since I got it and will definitely be repurchasing when I run out! I hope they make an SPF 50 version for the summer!

I hope you enjoyed this quick post, I just had to share this suncream! Do you have a favourite suncream? Let me know in the comments!

I’m so pale and I burn so easily and I find it hard to find a suncream that doesn’t break me out because I have oily skin. It’s good to know that this has salicylic acid in it. Will definitely check this out! Thanks for recommending it x

Ooooh this is super helpful! I’ve just dealt with my hoard of old sunscreens and thrown the lot away (I shouldn’t have kept them for so long because they lose their effectiveness… but they’re soooo expensive!). Will definitely be giving this a go 🙂

Im definitely naïve to the fact I should wear more suncream. More people need to prioritise wearing more suncream over looking a little oily or feeling a little sticky. Very well written post

I know, suncream is so important but I totally get why people hate it cause of the sticky horrible feeling! This suncream is honestly such a gamer changer!

This sounds great I love that it has no smell as thats what I hate about suncream the most! I love using carrot sun as its made with carrot oil and helps excellerate the tan! X

Oh I’ve used a carrot based product on my legs before! I’m so careful with my skin now and try to avoid any tan so that’s why I’m big into my SPF!

Yes I mean I have Olive skin and used to still always use SPF 50 haha. I do like the carrot stuff though as it does contain SPF – its good for those short holidays! x
