REN Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask

I was delighted when I was sent the REN Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask* to review by BeautyExpert. I’ve been eyeing it up for ages! This mask is from REN’s EverCalm range which is specially formulated for sensitive skin, so it’s absolutely perfect for me! I’ve previously used their EverCalm cleanser and it worked really well with my skin type so I’m hoping this mask will be the same!

REN state this mask is ‘Especially developed to combat over-sensitivity and will calm, soothe and moisturise, helping to instantly alleviate the key signs of sensitive skin. Making  skin feel smoother, with a more even tone and a luminous, healthy complexion. It helps re-establish the natural balance of over reactive skin leaving a soft-touch velvety feel and delivering the ultimate sensation of calm and comfort.’

I love all the things this mask says it does and really hope it’s true!

You apply this mask to freshly cleansed skin. The mask has a thick cream consistency and is white with a greeny blue tone. A pump and a half covers the whole face generously. As soon as I applied the mask to my face I could instantly feel it soothing my skin! I know this is going to be perfect for days when my skin has reacted to a product or is inevitably sunburnt (the worst thing about pale skin!) The mask isn’t sticky and doesn’t harden as it dries, it feels like a very thick moisturiser on my skin. I left the mask on for fifteen minutes (the recommended time is between 10-15 minutes) and then took the residue off using a damp cotton pad.

The redness in my skin was visibly lessened when I took the residue of the mask off and my skin felt extremly soft and moisturised so it definitely ticks the ‘calming, soothing and moisturising’ boxes! I’ve been using this mask for three weeks now so around 9 times and I haven’t noticed a major difference in my skins sensitivity levels but due to how soothing and moisturising this mask is I’ll definitely keep using it so I’m looking forward to seeing with long term use if this makes my skin less sensitive!

I hope you enjoyed this review, I’d honestly forgotten how much I loved this range, I’ll definitely be repurchasing this and the EverCalm cleanser! Have you tried this mask or any of the products from the REN EverCalm range?
