A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to win a giveaway with Laila London, a British natural, cruelty free skincare brand! I was allowed to pick a product from their website and after a lot of contemplating I decided on their Rose Water Mist. They were kind enough to pop in a Rose Balm and one of their teeth whitening products too!
Rose Water Mist
Ever since I read a post by Caroline Hirrons ranting and raving about how great rose water is I’ve been dying to try some. I loved the look of this facial mist and love the minimalist packaging. It’s 100% pure Moroccan Rose water. This spray can either be used as a toner or as a boost of hydration through the day. If you don’t already know the benefits, rose water is known to restore your skins pH balance and gentle absorbs excess oils without drying the skin. I am a big fan of facial sprays, my favourite being Mac Fix+. I’ve been searching for a more natural alternative though and I think this could be the one! Although this mist has a smell, it’s not over power and smells very natural, kind of like smelling a rose bush! I love the applicator of this spray, it disperses the mist widely meaning one spritz could cover the whole face so this bottle is going to last a while! I’m really loving this spray, it’s very hydrating, this will definitely be part of my ever growing daily skincare routine!
Frankincense & Rose Anti-Aging Balm
If you’ve read my review of the Neal’s Yard Remedies Wild Rose Collection you will know what a fan I am of my Wild Rose Beauty Balm. This Frankincense and Rose balm is really similar! This balm has a stronger rose scent and has a smoother consistency than the Neal’s Yard Balm. I’ve been using this to cleanse and take my makeup off, it becomes very oily when massaged into the face so takes makeup off no problem! I use a few damp cottons pads to remove it. It can also be used as a moisturiser. I apply it in the morning and the evening to cleansed skin, it melts into the skin and really softens and hydrates it. I’m really enjoying using this balm, I’ll definitely repurchase when this runs out!
Activated Charcoal Tooth Whitening Powder
I’ll be honest, I was apprehensive as soon as I saw this said ‘tooth whitening’. I have sensitive teeth already and have always been scared of teeth whitening products as they contain peroxide that seriously ruins the enamel of your teeth and makes them even more sensitive! This powder is actually 100% natural! It doesn’t contain any peroxide, fluoride, sweeteners, silicones, none of the bad stuff! Just some minerals, botanical extracts and essential oils so I thought I’d give it a go! You use it by putting some powder in your hand and then dipping your wet tooth brush into it. It doesn’t have a smell or a taste and the powder is very smooth and light, it almost reminds me of the texture of talc. This powder can replace tooth paste as it cleans as well as whitens. Personally though, I like the minty taste of my toothpaste so I’ve continued using it as well as this. I’ve been using this twice a day after I’ve cleaned my teeth for two weeks now and so far I’ve not noticed a major differently so I feel this powder is a long term whitening solution rather than a quick fix! I almost prefer this though as it will look much more subtle and natural.
I hope you enjoyed this review. Make sure to check out Laila London’s website as they’ve lots of other natural, cruelty free products. Have you tried any products from Laila London or used an activated charcoal tooth whitener before?
