A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to win a giveaway hosted by the lovely Nikki at LoveLaughLipstick. She runs a beauty blog with the most amazing photography which you should definitely check out! The giveaway prize was a Little Known Box of my choice.
Little Known Box is a beauty subscription box but unlike other subscription services you can also buy one off boxes from previous months! I absolutely love this idea as I’m always nervous I won’t like everything in a subscription box so this is the perfect solution! I picked the March box, their Spring edit. I will admit I picked this box purely for the fact a Bloomtown Scrub was included.
Before even opening my box I was blown away by the classy, beautiful packaging! You can tell so much love and care has gone into packing this box.
Bloomtown Scrub – The Wood
I have a whole post on Bloomtown products, I’m absolutely obsessed with them! They’re natural, vegan, cruelty free and all smell incredible! So ofcourse I was delighted when I saw one of their scrubs was in this box. Their scrubs are my favourite products, I’ve previously used up a scrub in the scent ‘The Meadow’ which is Lavendar, Rose Geranium and Camomile scented so was very excited to try this one in ‘The Woods’. I have a candle in this scent so I know I really like it already. ‘The Woods’ products are scented with Cedar, Vetiver and Bergamot. The scrub has a gorgeous musky smell and makes skin incredibly soft.
The Vintage Cosmetics Company Blending Sponge
I will admit, I’m a Beauty Blender snob. No other blending sponge has lived up to the standards of the original beauty blender. I was still looking forward to trying this out though. £16 is so expensive to be replacing your sponge every 3 months so I’m always looking for cheaper alternatives! I also love that this sponge is purple! When dampened this sponge expands like the Beauty Blender. It is slightly more dense but I really enjoyed using it.
The Edge Top Coat
I was really happy to see a top coat in this box as I accidentally melted my OPI top coat and now it’s gone all gloopy (don’t leave nail polishes in sunlight!) I painted my nails using the gorgeous Maggie Anne polish in ‘Grace’ from my Skin Organics Beauty Box unfortunately though, when I applied the top coat, it took the gorgeous shine off the polish and made it slightly streaky which I was disappointed by. I wanted to give it another go so tried it with an OPI polish and on my bare nails, it looked okay with bare nails but honestly, I was disappointed with this polish.
HJ Nail Polish – Thunder Storm
You were able to pick a nail polish for this box in either pink, nude or lilac. I went for Thunder Storm a lovely cool toned grey/lilac as I don’t have a shade like this in my extremely large nail polish collection! This polish is pigmented, easy to apply and has a lovely shine when dry. I really like this nail polish, I definitely want to try some other colours from HJ. I love that Little Known Box let you choose your own shade.
Soap Smith Marble Arch soap
This is another amazing smelling product! Soap Smith are an artisan company who create a whole range of soaps in different colours and scents. I will admit I was slightly put off the first time I used this, when damp the dark dye comes out of this so it looks a wee bit icky when washing yourself with it. I adore the smell so much though that I’m willing to look past that.
Saturated Colour Lipstick – Breezy Coral
I already own a Saturated Colour lipstick in the shade Naked Pink so I was pleased to see another one in this box in a gorgeous coral colour perfect for the summer! Saturated Colour products are cruelty free and vegan. Breezy Coral is a sheer tinted balm, it contains jojoba oil and vitamin E to nourish lips as well as giving them a gorgeous subtle colour.
I really loved my Little Known Box, there’s a great selection of products and it costs only £12.95! I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on the boxes and get another one in the future. Have you had a Little Known Box before?
