Having dry lips is the bane of my life! I am always on the search for ways to keep my lips baby soft and forever trying new products. I thought it would be handy to put them all in one post for you and give you my top tips!
I have a cute little makeup bag from Burt’s Bees where I keep all my lip balms and lip treatments. It stays beside my bed on my wee table. It’s super handy to have somewhere to keep them all together as I always lose lip balms! (I can’t be the only one!)
Lip Treatments
I have three lip treatments that I like to alternate between. These are all heavy duty treatments I like to use before going to sleep or when my lips are at their driest. The first is Nuxe’s Reve de Miel. I’ve only recently started using this when I won it in a giveaway hosted by the lovely Millie from ‘Modish Rambling‘ (She has an AMAZING beauty blog, you should definitely check it out!) I’ve already mentioned it in my June favourites because I fell in love with it. It’s super hydrating and completely rescues my lips whenever they’re dry and flaky. The other product similar to this is Nakin’s lip treatment balm. Unlike the Reve de Meil this is clear and has a more runny, shiny consistency. The last lip treatment is Neal’s Yard Remedies Busy Bee Balm. It the least intensive of the balms, I use this if my lips aren’t particularly dry. It is made of beeswax and smells of orange which I love!
Daily Lip Balms
These three lip balms I alternate for daily use. The Malibu lipbalm is perfect for summer as it has SPF 30! It’s so important to remember that your lips get sunburnt too! Everyone puts such an emphasis on protecting your skin but your lips are just as sensitive if not even more. Throughout June, July and August I make sure to use a lip balm with SPF, there are lots of different flavours in the the Malibu lip balm range, my current favourite is Tropical, it smells like you’re on holiday! BeeGood have a range of three lipbalms in the most lovely flavours. I love the raspberry and white chocolate one especially. Rather than being a stick, these balms are more creamy, they give a lovely shine to the lips and are perfect for popping over the top of a matte lip to give it a bit of shine and make your lips super juicy! Bioderma’s Atoderm lipbalm is my every day lip balm during winter. I feel it really protects my lips from cold wind and stops them from drying out!
Burt’s Bees lip balms
I couldn’t do a lip care post without mentioning Burt’s Bees. I recently did a little Burt’s Bees haul and tried out even more of their lip products. Burt’s Bees lip balms have been my go to for years and I don’t see that changing any time soon. They have so many products that keep lips hydrated and don’t ever dry them out. My favourite is still Burt’s Bees original lipbalm in the Pomegrante flavour. It smells and feels amazing and gives your lips a gorgeous, natural, pinkish tint.
