MUR Renaissance Lipstick Review + Swatches

I could not have been more excited when these lipsticks landed on my doorstep. The release of Makeup Revolution’s Renaissance Lipstick collection last year was majorly hyped. Costing only £4 with dreamy rose gold packaging these lipsticks are every drugstore lovers dream. As with all Makeup Revolution products they’re also cruelty free. They’ve now released 6 new shades in addition to the 20 existing Renaissance shades and kindly sent me four of them to show you.

I have the shades:

Blended* – pale pink

Higher* – peachy nude

Highness* – berry red

Untouched* – dark plum

As I said above, the packaging of these lipsticks is to die for, I’m such a sucker for rose gold. The lipsticks feel weighty and like they’d cost much more than their £4 price tag. Interestingly Makeup Revolution have varied the packaging from the original Renaissance lipsticks. They added an additional plastic strip along the bottom of each lipstick. I like this for ease of finding the shade you want though I do feel it slightly takes away from the luxurious packaging.

All the lipsticks are super pigmented and have a creamy, very opaque formula. I can’t get over how well they swatch! They’re insanely comfortable on the lips and have a matte but still creamy look. I haven’t found them to be drying which I’m really pleased about.

I think all four shades I’ve tried compliment my pale skin beautifully and although ‘Highness’ is a little brighter than what I’d usually go for and ‘Untouched’ a little darker, I really like them both. ‘Untouched’ in particular is going to be a perfect Autumn shade.

As always the swatches below are unedited and only one swipe to show as true likeness as possible.

Seriously the colour pay off of the Renaissance Lipsticks is amazing! If you haven’t picked up a shade to try yet I’d highly recommend heading to your nearest Makeup Revolution counter or stocking up on TAM Beauty online. They’re well worth the £4 price tag in my opinion!

What do you think of the new shades? Have you got any of the original Renaissance lipsticks? What are you’re favourite shades?

Blended, Higher and Untouched look like lovely shades! I don’t personally go for brighter pinks so I don’t think I would pick up Highness. I liked your writing style in this post!

Oh my goodness these are absolutely gorgeous! I keep saying I definitely don’t need any more lipsticks but how could you not at that price tag! I’m also a sucker for Rose Gold and the colours seem so so beautiful! I’ve only tried a few Make Up Revolution bits but will definitely have to invest in some more soon!
