IT Cosmetics is a brand I’ve been dying to try for a long time now, their CC Cream is extremely hyped in the blogging and YouTube world, as is the Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer but as always one thing was putting me off, the shade range. Being a pale girl means finding a complexion product next to impossible, ‘fair’ and ‘porcelain’ in most shade ranges really aren’t so pale in the grand scheme of things. The lovely ladies over at IT Cosmetics kindly sent me the CC Cream and concealer to put to the test and see if they really are pale girl friendly.
Your Skin But Better CC+ Full Coverage Cream – Fair*
I was sent the CC Cream in the shade fair which is the palest shade. There’s seven shades in total in the range, which to be honest I find a little disappointing but CC Cream’s are notorious for having a small shade range so it’s certainly better than some!
I’ll be honest, sadly fair just isn’t pale enough for my ghostly skin, I have played around with The Body Shop’s lightening drops though and can get it pretty close so I think it will work in the summer when I have a little extra colour to my skin. I prefer to wear CC Cream’s in the summer anyway as they’re more lightweight than foundation so I’m not deterred! My favourite thing about the CC Cream though is the fact it has SPF 50+!! That definitely makes it pale girl friendly in my opinion, I can pop this on in the morning and spend the day completely at ease knowing I won’t get sunburnt!
I’d say it has good medium to full coverage and is definitely buildable which I really like. It works very well with my dry skin and doesn’t cling to any dry patches. It leaves you with a still skin like, glowy finish, perfect for lighter makeup days while still giving your skin much needed coverage. If you aren’t as ghostly as me then I’d definitely advise purchasing as the formula and finish are beautiful.
Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer*
I was definitely nervous to try this concealer after seeing how dark the CC Cream was, the Bye Bye Under Eye has six different shades, light being the palest so I was expecting this to be very dark, unbelievably though I’m really pleased with the shade! It’s much paler than the CC Cream (see swatches further down) and is a pretty good match for my pale skin. The coverage is second to none, this is a seriously full coverage concealer and a god send on bad skin days. It has a slightly dewy finish so I would advise setting with a loose powder to make sure it lasts all day, I use powder with all my concealers though so I wasn’t surprised by this. The only negative I have is the squeezy tube, I feel as I get further down I’ll get frustrated that I can’t get all the product out and make the most of such a great full coverage concealer. That being said it’s so full coverage that very little goes a long way so it’ll be a fair while before I get to the bottom of the tube!
Ombre Illuminating Blush – Je Ne Sais Quoi*
I am head over heels for this beautiful blush. I could barely bring myself to use it for fear of ruining the beautiful ombre effect. I got over my fear though and I’m so glad I did, this blush is just gorgeous! It’s super pigmented but blends out beautifully so you don’t need to worry if you have pale skin. Due to the illuminating properties the blush leaves a healthy glow on your cheeks, I really need to pick up some more shades as I’m completely sold. Je Ne Sais Quoi is a stunning coral pink that compliments my pale skin beautifully, I think it would look amazing on tan skin too so it’s a blush for everyone!
As always swatches are unedited to show the shades of products as realistically as possible.
You can clearly see from the swatches the major difference between the CC Cream and the Bye Bye Under Eye. I’m really hoping IT Cosmetics expand their CC Cream shade range some more as I really love the concept and finish. The Bye Bye Under Eye & Illuminating Blush are big wins for me though so I’m over the moon to have discovered them!
