If you’ve been reading my pregnancy updates you’ll know how much I’ve been struggling with back pain. It gets me down during the day but particularly at night when I’m exhausted and really want to curl up and fall peacefully asleep. I’ve tried lots of different things to help ease the pains and wondered if a new mattress would help. You’re meant to replace your mattress every 8 years and honestly I can’t remember when I last got a new mattress so a new one was definitely needed!
Leesa kindly sent me a mattress to review to see if it would help make me a little more comfortable at night.
Ordering your mattress is super easy, you just select your mattress size (Leesa have both UK and EU options) pop in your address and your Leesa mattress with arrive vacuum packaged in a box, on your doorstep within 5-7 working days.
To unpack your mattress you simply take it out of the box, place it rolled up on your bed frame, remove the plastic wrap and watch (in amazement) as your vacuum packed mattress expands. The mattress takes 24 hours to fully expand but it can be slept on before this. I’d advise opening your mattress first thing in the morning when you get up, then you can leave it all day to expand and it’ll be super comfy by bed time!
The Leesa mattress is similar to my old memory foam mattress in terms of firmness rather than the feeling of a sprung mattress. What I love though is it’s much squishier on top. This squishy feeling is due to Leesa’s special 3 layer mix. The first layer is 5cm of Avena foam, the second, 5cm of Memory Foam and then finally 15cm of support foam. The special Avena foam is also breathable so you’ve no need to panic about over heating on the Leesa Mattress. I wasn’t a fan of my old mattress and always complained it was too firm so was delighted with the arrival of my Leesa mattress. I’ve slept more since I got this mattress than I’ve slept in months it’s so comfy so the mattress is a huge hit!
Leesa offer a 100 night risk free trial so you can truly test your mattress and have peace of mind that you won’t be wasting your money on something you don’t find comfortable. If you don’t like it (though I’ll be very surprised if you’d don’t!) Leesa will pick it up and either donate it to a charitable foundation or recycle it. (And you’ll get your money back of course!) They also donate 1 mattress for every ten sold to a charitable organisations tackling homelessness and human trafficking and plant a tree for each and every mattress sold. I really appreciate companies with a charity aspect.
Leesa have kindly given me a code so you can get £80 off your own Leesa Mattress. Just click the link! (and trust me you’ll be crazy not to try one!)
The all important question though, has it helped my back pain?! YES! I honestly have slept like a log since I got this mattress (minus the need to pee all the time, but that can’t be helped!) I am so pleased to have got this mattress, I know I’ll be spending lots of time in bed the more my pregnancy progresses and of course once Squish gets here so it’s so nice to be ultra comfy and get as much sleep as possible before the inevitable sleepless nights. My advice for any pregnant mum to be is to treat yourself to a Leesa mattress, you will not be disappointed! There’s no better to time to treat yourself that when you’re pregnant!
