I’m sure you all know by now what a massive Charlotte Tilbury fan I am. I’m yet to try a product that disappoints. The rose gold packaging is to die for and all the products are of the highest quality. One of Charlotte’s newest releases is the Hollywood Flawless Filter and I’ve been testing it out over the past few weeks.
Charlotte Tilbury’s Flawless Filter is unlike anything I’ve tried before. It’s described as a
‘customisable complexion booster with the versatility of a primer, the mega-watt glow of a highlighter, and the perfecting properties of your favourite digital filter. Ingredients help to soft-focus, illuminate skin and makes lines and pores appear smoother.’
The Hollywood Flawless Filter has seven shades to choose from, the website advises which shade to pick depending on what your usual Charlotte Tilbury foundation shade is. As I’m a ghost and shade 1 in Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic foundation I went for shade 1 in the Flawless Filter also. Shade 1 is a light champagne colour.
As much as I was excited to try this out for the first time I was also rather unsure of how to actually use it. I was rather nervous to mix this in with my foundation incase it made me look shiny and like I’d just covered myself in highlighter. I first tried it as a cream highlight, applying it over the top of my foundation to the high points of my face, my cheek bones, brow bone and Cupid’s bow. It creates a beautiful, subtle, natural glow. It looks stunning for everyday and is a great highlight option for those who want a subtle glow rather than an obvious highlight.
Curiousity took the better of me though and I just had to try mixing it with my foundation. The Flawless Filter has a large doe foot applicator so mixing it with foundation is slightly tricky. The best way I’ve found is to use the applicator and apply the product straight to your face, I put two lines on my cheeks, three shorter lines on my forehead, one on my chin and one down my nose, then I dot my foundation in between these lines and blend it all together using a beauty blender.
I could not believe how flawless my makeup looked when blended in. The natural dewy glow is incredible. It really does blur your complexion and create a flawless look. The filter slightly sheers out your foundation but not to the extent that it effects the coverage. I still like to set my makeup with a mineral powder to hold my concealer in place and to prevent any oily patches but the beautiful glow is still visible under powder.
Everytime I use this I have a ‘good makeup day’ and get complimented on how lovely and glowy my skin looks. If you suffer from dry skin like me then the Hollywood Flawless Filter is the perfect complexion product for you! I would say if you have oily skin you may have to air on the side of caution with this. I feel mixing with your foundation might make your complexion too shiny, it’s hard to say though so I’d definitely pick up a sample sachet from your local CT counter to try for yourself.
