I’m now on my 28 Week and finally into my third trimester! I’m on the home stretch and I couldn’t be more excited to meet my little Squish! I had an extra scan this week as I’ll be having a few growth scans to make sure Squish is growing as they should. It was so lovely to see my not so little one wriggling around on the screen. Squish now weighs a massive 2lbs and 7oz’s! I cannot get over how big that is. The scan went super well though and the doctor is super happy with how my little baby is growing.
Symptoms
The symptoms seem to have come back full force this week! I didn’t think I’d be saying this but boy do I miss the second trimester!
Leaking – My boobs have started leaking much to my annoyance and inconvenience. I’m having to wear a bra with breast pads constantly to avoid my tshirts and dresses getting ruined.
Bladder control – I’m back to peeing a lot more often now obviously with the weight of Squish pressing down on my bladder.
Constant waking up – I keep waking up and it’s making me exhausted! It’s obviously my body’s way of training me for the many sleepless nights to come but boy am I finding it tough!
Overheating – I’m not sure if this is due to the summer weather we’ve had the past two weeks or if it’s pregnancy related but I have been boiled recently! Even in lightweight dresses I’m still dying in the heat!
Heartburn – I haven’t had this bad *touch wood* but there’s been a few nights where I’ve definitely had some heartburn and it hasn’t been pleasant.
Much stronger kicks – what seems to be the only nice symptom! Squish’s kicks are stronger than ever. Almost to the point where some of them make me jump! Squish has an awful habit of deciding to have a wee dance at around half eleven at night (I really hope that isn’t a sign of what’s to come!) but it’s so lovely to feel my little baby moving around and knowing they’re happy and healthy.
Bumpie
I cannot get over how much my bump has grown. I keep comparing it to old bumpies and the difference is insane!
I’ve started to get my hospital bags ready this week just in case anything happens suddenly and I have a gorgeous Cybex car seat at the ready. I’ve still a few more bits to add but when the bags are finished I’ll be creating a post on what I’m packing. Do you have any recommendations for me? Anything you found super useful during labour?
I also have created a loose birth plan. I’m trying not to focus on it too much as I know births don’t tend to go to plan but it’s nice to have some sort of idea of how’d I’d like it to go and what sort of drugs/intervention I’m okay with.
