I’ve really missed writing my beauty favourites every month but honestly, I’ve become such a creature of habit with what makeup I use this year they’d have been very boring to read with the same few products on repeat. If you’ve read my 2020 goals you’ll already know I’ve made it my mission to switch up my makeup this year so hopefully I’ll be able to write lots more favourites posts soon! Anyway, I made a few new discoveries this past year and stuck with a few old favourites too.
The Lancôme Monsieur Big mascara has remained a firm favourite this year and I honestly don’t think I’ll find a mascara quite as amazing. I alternate between the original formula and the waterproof version depending on my plans for the day. Both are amazing, create long and volumous lashes that don’t flake or give the panda eye effect at the end of the day. Charlotte Tilbury’s Filmstar Bronze and Glow has also remained an everyday essential, the bronze shade is a pale girl’s must have in my opinion, I wish Charlotte would release an individual version of the bronzer actually! I’ve said this many times but if you haven’t tried Bronze and Glow then I highly recommend you pick it up and give it a go, you’ll not be disappointed!
Now onto some new finds for 2019, the first being from Nars. I stumbled across the Nars Vouager palette towards the end of the year but I have used it almost every day since! This petite little palette is perfect for every day with a range of matte and shimmery copper and brown tones. There’s not a massive amount of fall out from the shadows and they blend like a dream. This is a great little palette for ‘everyday makeup gals’ or for someone starting out with eyeshadow as it’s not too overwhelming with 6 shades to work with.
As always some more Charlotte Tilbury treats have made it into my yearly favourites. I’ve fallen head over heels for the little eyes to mesmerise cream eye shadow pots, particularly in the shade Jean. They’re super simple to apply, just use your finger tip and dab some onto your eyelid, the creamy mousse dries down super quick leaving a beautiful shimmery effect. I also think I may have found a new holy grail foundation and that’s quite an announcement from the girl who’s been using the same foundation for years. Charlotte’s Airbrush Flawless Finish is a full coverage foundation so a little goes a long way, I’ll have a full review of this foundation up in the next couple of weeks so I’ll not say too much but the shade range is amazing, the coverage is incredible and honestly you need to add this to your to try list!
My final makeup favourite of 2019 has to be Hourglass Ambient Light Blush. I’ve got two shades, Mood Exposure and Ethereal Glow and I’m eyeing up more! These blushes are perfect for pale skin as they’re initially very sheer when applied but can be built up to be more striking depending on the look you’re going for. There is honestly no fall out from the powders and they last forever! Definitely worth investing in.
