As lockdown continues and the better weather seems here to stay now is the time to make the most of your garden if you’re lucky enough to have one! Playing outside with little ones doesn’t need to break the bank though with huge swing sets and trampolines, there’s lots of cheaper smaller options that will keep your littles entertained for ages (or long enough to let you get a hot cup of tea!)
Bubbles
You can’t go wrong with good old bubbles. Whether you invest in a bubble machine, as they’re relatively inexpensive and can be picked up from the likes of amazon or Argos or you go old school and stick with a packet of bubbles or a bubble wand. Little ones will get loads of fun from chasing bubbles around the garden and trying to pop them.
Ball
I know it may seem like a silly suggestion but don’t underestimate the hours of fun a toddler will get from practicing throwing and kicking a ball. It might even tire them out and mean a better nights sleep!
Tree Swing
Swing sets seem to cost an arm and leg these days and they’re also out of stock everywhere! Big Game Hunters have a selection of very affordable tree swings if you’re lucky enough to have the perfect tree in your garden like me! They take a few minutes to put up using a secure rope and your little ones will have tonnes of fun on the swing whether they’re being pushed by you or pushing they’re teddies on it!

Tents & Tunnels
On the slightly more expensive side but still much more affordable than a trampoline or swing set, tunnels and tents will amuse your littles for ages. The Kids Concept Tent and Tunnel comes in a range of colours and can be used indoors and outdoors. My favourite thing though, they can be easily folded up into little bags for easy storage.
Bouncy Hopper
My final suggestion is a bouncy hopper, my sisters and I loved ours when we were little. You can get the original round bouncy hoppers or a selection of animal shaped hoppers these days, Theodore has a giraffe one from Whirli which he loves.
