Typology are an established French brand who have just launched in the U.K. in May. They sent me over a selection of products from their range ahead of their launch to try out. Now I’ve been using them for a few months I wanted to share my thoughts as this is a brand I’ve fallen in love with.
Typology is all about minimalism. Simple but effective ingredients, no nasty chemicals or fragrances and beautiful minimalist packaging. They’re also vegan and cruelty free. Typology also have a huge focus on sustainability using recyclable cardboard, reusable glass, recycled plastic or aluminium packaging to cut down on waste going to landfill. I’ve become much more eco conscious over the past year or two and this effort to cut down on packaging waste is a big win for me.
Typology provided me with my own skin prescription with my skin type and characteristics along with a morning and night time skincare routine full of recommendations for my skin type.
The first two product recommendations were two gorgeous oils, the 7-Ingredient Makeup Removing Oil and a Organic Sweet Almond Botanical Oil. The 7-Ingredient Makeup Removing Oil is a 99% natural, fragrance free oil perfect for sensitive skin. It gently removes makeup without drying out your skin. The Organic Sweet Almond Botanical Oil is a gentle yet nourishing multipurpose oil for those with dry to very dry skin. It can also be used in your hair to soften and strengthen.
If you don’t like using an oil to remove your makeup then Typology also have a Soothing Cleansing Bar containing Shea Butter to remove makeup and impurities. I’ve really been wanting to delve into the land of ‘naked’ beauty products so this cleansing bar is the perfect introduction.
The 9-ingredient lip balm has to be one of my favourite products from Typology, I’ve used it everyday since it arrived. I love the little metal tube. As it’s so natural this lip balms separates a little when left in the tube so a good squeeze about before taking off the lid is advised to mix it all up again. The balm is fragrance free and again, excellent for sensitive skin. It contains Shea Butter to nourish the lips and Lemon Extract to refresh and cool.
Next up is a Niacinamide 7% Soothing Toner which reduces redness, inflammation and blemishes alongside soothing and balancing the skin. I apply this morning and night and have been loving it. I’ve definitely noticed a reduction in redness over the past few months so I’m excited to see the long term benefits of continuing to use this.
The final product in my routine from Typology is a 3% Hyaluronic Acid + 2% B5 Hydrating Serum in a gorgeous frosted glass bottle with a dinky little pipette. I love love love this serum! I’ve been applying a few drops morning and night before my usual moisturisers and I’ve noticed such a difference in how soft and hydrated my skin is. This serum only costs £11.80 and I just cannot get over how effective it is for the affordable price tag. Alongside the lip balm this has to be another favourite find from Typology.
I couldn’t be more impressed with Typology’s range. I love the simplicity of the products, the focus on sustainability and the confidence their transparency in ingredients gives me. Everything is also insanely affordable for the quality. A brand to watch in my opinion!
