I love supporting small businesses as much as I can normally but especially in the current coronavirus pandemic supporting them now is more important than ever. There’s something much for personal and special when you buy from a small business and I love surprising friends and family with things that are a little bit different. I thought it’d be helpful to create a little post featuring some gift ideas from some of my favourite small businesses to help you tick off some people on your gift list this year.
Flat Chance are a brand I fell in love with just under 2 years ago now. She creates beautiful wire names and other designs as well as having a specific Christmas range each year. I have a beautiful wire Theodore in his bedroom as well as a pretty star wire hanging from last year’s Christmas collection. There’s so many people you could gift a wire word or design to and as it’s so personal it’ll really mean a lot.
Martha Brookare a London based stationery brand, although on the bigger side now due to how incredibly successful they’ve been but still a small business in the grand scheme of things! You can get all your stationery delights from calendars and planners to note books and notecards there’s an abundance of gift ideas. They also just released a desk stationery range with the cutest pen pots and desk organisers. I already have a range of notebooks, diaries and planners around the house and love all the personalisation options they offer.
I couldn’t create a Shop Small Gift Guide with out including Rose & Guy. Rose & Guy are a little one’s clothing brand created by a work at home mama. She designs and sews the cutest leggings, rompers, bloomers and dress for little ones and I adore all of her pieces. She’s just released her new Winter range including the unisex Rylee star leggings and I cannot wait to get Theodore a pair. If you’ve any tiny people on your gifting list this year there’s bound to be something for them at Rose & Guy.
Constellation Co is a new small business who sell beautiful dainty space inspired jewellery. They have a range of the cutest necklaces and would make a perfect gift for friends or sisters. The Zodiac Necklace is my fav and at only £20 it’s a bargain especially for something so personal. Maybe a great stocking filler idea?
I am a complete sucker for candles and they make the best perfect gift no matter who the recipient. The Nest Candle Company are a small business I’ve been swooning over since I discovered them on Instagram a few months ago. They have a range of hand poured soy wax candles and the most beautiful classic yet stylish packaging. I recently treated myself to Fairydust, one of Nest Candle Company’s best sellers but I’m already eyeing up bouquet!
Patch Kid Co are another Instagram find. Ran by a mama of 2, they make a selection of hoodies, jumpers and tees for mama’s and their littles. A gift idea for all your mum friends you can pick from a range of different personalisations, slogans and embroidery designs.
Finally, Kitty Makes was a discovery thanks to the Shop Small Event on Instagram. Kitty Makes has a range of beautiful prints as well as a stunning Christmas collection with hand lettered baubles, cards and present sacks. I can’t wait to get a lettered bauble for Theodore to hang on the tree this year.
