It’s been a while since I’ve had some new skincare up on the blog. I’ve been trying out a new range from the brand Phytomer and I’m obsessed. Phytomer are a French brand who create gorgeous cruelty free and vegan skincare. (Big brownie points from me already!) Everything about Phytomer is natural right down to their packaging, with 98% naturally derived ingredients, 100% natural fragrance and even recyclable plant based tubes.
I’m not going to lie it’s been a long time since I’ve been blown away by a brand as much as I have been by Phytomer. I noticed a difference in my skin within days of starting to use the organic Cyfolia range. I ditched all my usual skincare products other than my spot treatment and quite honestly I haven’t missed them. I’ve been trying out the Radiance Cleansing Cream, Radiance Exfoliating Cream and Hydra-Comforting Radiance Cream, the most perfect trio of skincare treats. The Cyfolia range aims to smooth and hydrate, leaving skin clean and radiant and it lives up to all those claims.
The Cyfolia Radiance Cleansing Cream contains organic Cyfolia algae which leaves skin radiant and glowing alongside aloe vera, rose and cedar wood. It’s a thick, luxurious cream based cleanser which melts into your face as you massage. You apply to damp skin, massage for a few minutes and then rinse off using warm water and a muslin cloth. It cleanses skin without drying it out and has a lovely natural, fresh scent.
Phytomer’s Cyfolia Radiance Exfoliating Cream contains naturally occurring organic argan kernel and pomegranate seed particles to exfoliate the skin. I steer clear of plastic micro bead exfoliators due to the bad effect they have on the ocean so naturally occurring exfoliators are always a big win in my opinion. I’ve been using this twice a week, after cleansing and before moisturising. It’s lovely and gentle and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin while leaving it soft, smooth and hydrated.
Finally, last but by no means least the Cyfolia Hydra-Comforting Radiance Cream is a luxurious facial moisturiser for day and night use. It’s not overly thick so works well under foundation for day time use. It doesn’t contain any spf which I like as I prefer to apply it separately and minimises the risk of irritation to sensitive skin. I love this moisturiser for every day use and it’s been perfect while I’ve been pottering around the house. I may possibly struggle in the middle of winter though when my skin is at its driest and need something a little thicker and more intense.
The only negative I can think of, for me personally I prefer to use a different day and night cream so I’d love to see Phytomer add a night cream to the Cyfolia range. Something a little more rich and hydrating to work it’s magic while I sleep. I’d also love them to create an intensive face mask to complete the range, we all love a face mask for a pamper night!
You can purchase Phytomer Cyfolia range direct from the Phytomer website. They have also released a range of gift sets for the festive season which are well worth checking out if you’ve still got some presents left to buy.
