I’m sure you all know by know I love Burt’s Bees , their lip balms are my favourite, I always have one in my pocket! I thought it was about time I picked up some of their other lip products that I haven’t tried before and gave them a go.
Lipstick ‘that loves you back’ – Blush Basin
I’ve been lusting after the Burt’s Bees ‘Lipstick That Loves You Back’ range for quite a while now. As I have such dry lips I find it very frustrating that my favourite lipsticks and lip liners dry my lips out further. The Burt’s Bess lipsticks are supposed to have all the benefits of a lip balm but are still a lipstick! I wanted an everyday pinky nude shade. The three options listed on the site were ‘Nile Nude’, ‘Blush Basin’ and ‘Suede Splash’. ‘Nile Nude’ looked like it didn’t have any pink tone and ‘Suede Spash’ looks far too dark for my complexion so I decided on ‘Blush Basin’. From the swatch online this looked like a perfect pink toned nude but to be honest I was a little taken a back, as you can see from the photo above its much brighter than a nude! More a red/pink. I absolutely love the formula, it really does feel like a lipbalm but look like a lipstick. It lasted for around 5 hours and I was eating and drinking during this time so I’m impressed with its lasting power. I’m just slightly disappointed with the shade as it’s too bright for everyday.
Tinted lip balm – Zinna & Rose
As I already love the original lip balm range, I thought I’d give the tinted version a go. Pomegranate is my favourite in the original range as it gives my lips a pinkish tint so I was expecting high things from these. I went for the shades Zinna and Rose. Zinna is peach toned, Rose is pinky red toned. These are both as moisturising as the original lip balms and give your lips the expected tint. I really like these and they’re perfect for days when you want a ‘no makeup’ makeup look as they’ll moisturise your lips and still look beautiful.
Lip Shimmer – Peony Pivoine
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t overly keen to try this as I’m personally not a fan of shimmer lips. It came in a set though so I thought I may as well give it a go. It has a gorgeous peppermint smell which I really like and wasn’t expecting! It’s actually a really pretty shade and not extremely shimmery so I think I actually might wear this! It’s a shimmery nude pink that fades well throughout the day. Like the tinted balms I think this is a great option on ‘no makeup’ makeup days. I’m definitely pleasantly surprised by this!
Lip Balm – Strawberry
The other product in the set was this strawberry lipbalm from the original range. I actually hadn’t tried the strawberry flavour but, as expected, I love it just as much as the other original lip balm flavours. They’re honestly the most hydrating lipbalms and I think I will forever be hard pushed to find something I like better.
Have you tried any of these Burt’s Bees products before?
