Autumn is well and truly here which means bye bye to the summer colour palette and hello to bronzes, oranges, mauve and navy blue. I thought I’d put together a little collection of beauty products that I think are perfect for this time of year.
Lip Colours
Being a pale girl I can’t go too dark with my lipsticks or they completely wash me out. So for autumn I like to go down the browny nude spectrum. My top three lip products for autumn are Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution in Very Victoria which is the perfect everyday browny nude. This matte revolution lipstick is super comfortable to wear and doesn’t dehydrate the lips something that’s so important now the weather’s getting colder. My second choice is the Lancôme L’absolu Roses Lip Gloss. I’m not normally a lip gloss kind of girl but this new release from Lancôme has become a firm favourite already. It has more of a lip cream texture than a lip gloss which makes your lips look plump, juicy and hydrated. Again it’s a more mauvey brown pink which really suits this time of year. The Joan Collin’s Devine Lipstick in Marilyn* looks very similar to my trusty Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks. It has a cream formula so again this lipstick is hydrating (can you see a pattern here?!) I absolutely love the shade, it’s a pinky red that compliments a darker eye look.
Eye Colours
Autumn is the perfect time to get creative with your eye makeup looks. I love nothing more than spending an evening creating a new take on a beautiful bronze smoky eye. I couldn’t do an autumnal post without mentioning the gorgeous Morphe 35O palette! There’s so many oranges, reds, bronzes and browns. If you’re to get any palette this autumn then this is definitely the one to go for! The shadows are so pigmented and there’s a good mix of shimmer and matte shades. Honestly what more could you want in a palette?! The Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro 1 was my previous favourite palette for autumn before I got my Morphe palette. I think this palette is so versatile. There’s more muted tones for everyday but you’ve also got some lovely browns, and the insanely pigmented purple and bronze shade for more dramatic looks! This palette is also really affordable, great if you don’t want to splurge. Finally the Urban Decay Naked 2* is the newest palette to my collection. I’d been dying to get my hands on it but never taken the plunge so when Cherry Berry (which you’ll hear more about next week!) sent me it I was so pleased. It arrived just in time for autumn! I love all the cool tones. The silvers and greys are perfect for something a little different from the brown toned looks.
Nail Colours
I’m sure by now you all know I’m obsessed with my nails. I’m loving all the darker autumnal colours. Leighton Denny have three new colours perfect for autumn and Halloween. Maneater* (glossy black) and Caught Red Handed* (bright red) are the two shades I’ve been trying out. Maneater is the most opaque black polish I’ve ever tried. You can get away with only one coat and the shine is incredible! Caught Red Handed is a gorgeous red that I’ve loved using on my toe nails. Red really compliments my pale skin. I think Bronzed Babe* (red/bronze) and Leading Lilac* (purple) along with this gorgeous berry maxfactor glossfinity polish and my trusty Bubble Bath nail envy* (mauve) are perfect autumnal shades.
Fragrance
I’ve been loving Ghost’s new fragrance, Dream* for Autumn. Not only is the bottle gorgeous and so pretty for your dressing table but the scent is perfect for autumn. Although this perfume is floral there’s an underlying woody and musk scent which gives it the depth needed for this time of year.
I hope you liked this little collection of autumn beauty products. What are your autumn must haves? Do you already have some of the products I mentioned?
