The New Year is the perfect time to upgrade your home and refresh your décor. I’m not going to lie I’ve spent numerous evenings while Theo is napping scrolling through Anthropologie, Next, Oliver Bonas and La Redoute (who have an amazing sale with an extra 10% off!) dreaming up how I would redecorate my house. You might have seen on my instastories that Theo and I have just moved house so I’ve been dreaming up lots of plans on how we’re going to make it our own.
The first thing I’d absolutely love to do is redo the floors of my house with a grey toned wood but let’s be serious wood is pricey and to redo a whole house in it would cost a fortune! As it’s so expensive I’ve been looking down the laminate flooring route. Laminate gives you the desired look of wood without costing the earth. It’s also perfect for those, like me, who like to keep changing their home with each new season and style.
I love greys, whites and pinks as a colour palette so that’s the colour scheme I’m aiming for in my living room. I’ve been lusting after a grey corner sofa for absolutely ages and I’ve finally found the perfect one. I’m so excited for it to arrive and I’ll be sure to share the details once it’s here safe and sound and I’ve styled it with some beautiful cushions and throws.
My living room needs to be stylish but also safe for a baby to play in. I love having a rug as a feature for the centre of my room as it’s a good soft space for Theo to play on with all his toys but also looks pretty when his toys are away in their toy basket. La Redoute or IKEA have some particularly lovely rugs. La Redoute also regularly has amazing discounts on their rugs so it’s worth keep an eye on the one you want for a few weeks to make sure you get it at the best price possible.
Of course when redecorating you have the perfect excuse to pick up some accessories. One of my favourite ways to accessories a room is by using prints. Poster Lounge and Desenio are my favourite places to shop for prints. There’s a wide variety of styles and colours, you’re sure to find a print suitable for every room.
Finally I want to pick up some new cute little home bits like different ornaments and maybe a few mirrors. Where’s your favourite place to pick up house accessories? Here’s a little more inspo and homey bits that I’m loving right now –
